Frederique Neal joins us for the first of many blog entries. Here is a beautiful poem reflecting on what The Noisy Movement joins together to achieve: NOISE.
Reading this after coming home from work today was quite warming, and allowed me to take a step back and look at who we have reached, what we have achieved, and what we still have left to come.
TIRESIAS: I will go, once I have said what I came here to say.
- Sophocles, Oedipus Rex
The Noisy Movement:
remember
this moment
join this movement
stand, with us, collective
and own it
we are not here for our own
enjoyment, but for
some shared objective
for
justice equal treatment appeasement protection from indecent
action recognition destruction of denomination achievement
of revolution
be noisy
in a ladylike, outspoken fashion
together the decibels of our dislike
and anger are louder
than the whispers of an implicit complacent population
so
be noisy
and elicit emotion, conversation, commotion
for
recognition that we are all
only human
